Convair 990 Research Variant (NASA-Owned, Semi-Historical)
Convair 990 Research Variant is an exploratory Convair 990 variant configured for research purposes. The design embodied the possibility of slower operational speed in Mach 0.8 or less, just like the more modern airliners are. Thus this design has many changes. some are anti-shock bodies removed, clean wing configuration, Retention of original fuselage length, Treated as a NASA-owned experimental aircraft
This pack also come with bonus aircraft which has a further refinedment inspired by the later year fuel price incrase. Such modifications are has a modified wingtip, inspired by Boeing 777’s Racked Winglet, then the transponder antenna reduced in size using modern equipment for aerodynamic and drag reduction purposes.
This configuration exists as a plausible research airframe, suitable for aerodynamic, stability, or propulsion studies.

This model intentionally excludes historical operational features, capturing the aircraft as it existed in concept documentation rather than production reality.
