The Series 1100 is the very first VC-10 prototype brought to life in digital form. This is the aircraft that started it all—the testbed that proved the concept and paved the way for later commercial and military variants.

Our CAD model faithfully preserves the original dimensions and design details:

Fuselage: Original length, capturing the prototype’s proportions exactly as they first flew.
Wingtips: Squarish, reflecting the early aerodynamic experimentation before refinement in later series.
Engine nacelles: Slightly draggy than later production models, a faithful nod to the dragier configuration of the prototype.
Wing-fuselage connection: Less streamlined than future iterations, showing how engineers refined the design over time.
Engine platform: Traditional airfoil shape, without the later bulge covers used to reduce drag.
Wing root chord: Thinner than the Series 1102 and beyond, reflecting the prototype’s original aerodynamic layout.

Every detail of this CAD reconstruction is rooted in historical reference, inspired directly by G-ARTA, the aircraft that first proved the VC-10’s potential. This isn’t just a model—it’s a digital preservation of aviation history, capturing the aircraft as it existed in its earliest form.
